Christy Mihaly is a children's author and former lawyer. Her civics-themed informational books include OUR CONGRESS (Albert Whitman 2024), THE SUPREME COURT AND US (Albert Whitman 2022), and FREE FOR YOU AND ME: What Our First Amendment Means (2020).
Other works include Barefoot Books WATER: A Deep Dive of Discovery (2021), which takes young readers on a round-the-world tour of our planet's precious and powerful water; PATIENCE, PATCHES!, (2022) a tale about a dog and a new baby; MEL BROOKS: A Little Golden Book Biography (2024); HEY, HEY, HAY! (A Tale of Bales and the Machines That Make Them) (Holiday House 2018), and DIET FOR A CHANGING CLIMATE: Food for Thought (Lerner/TFCB 2018), which seeks to inspire older kids to action with facts and suggestions for taking a bite out of climate change by changing what we eat.
Christy also writes poetry, articles, stories, and nonfiction for the educational market. Her poems have been published in many anthologies and magazines. She does her writing under the supervision of her dog and cat, overlooking the forests and fields of Vermont.
