When Kael Darren starts out her senior year of high school in Mesa, Arizona, she doesn’t expect to be in a classroom with an insanely attractive teacher’s assistant that looks exactly like the man from her reoccurring dreams. She certainly doesn’t expect that he will take an interest in her either. But, Kael’s first meeting with Jagger, who turns out to know her on a much deeper level than she initially thought, certainly isn’t her last. Very quickly she discovers that her closest friends, Laith and Azrael, have been keeping secrets from her – secrets that will completely and utterly reshape her world, and Jagger is one of them. Joined by Aren, Jagger’s friend, and Aimee Darren, Kael’s seemingly mild-mannered mother, the group helps Kael discover her true past and her purpose here on Earth. Lost in the fact that her life as a human was a total farse, Kael must face the life she was pre-destined to live with a power she’s not certain she can handle. With demons and dark forces and friends with strange abilities, Kael struggles to come to terms with her new world. Why was she kept in the dark for so long? And will she follow her destiny or retreat to the normalcy of her human life?
