More Details

As Major General William T. Sherman advanced towards Atlanta in June of 1864, he was stalled at Kennesaw Mountain by Confederates led by General Joseph E. Johnston. A stalemate caused Sherman to attack Cheatham Hill and Pigeon Hill, which he felt were vulnerable. Sherman failed, causing him to revert to his previously successful flanking maneuvers.

Map Features: The large park map features 20' contour intervals, hiking trails, earthworks, historical markers, and all other relevant features. This map also includes a detail map of the Atlanta Campaign, a simple troop movement map, and a complete Organizational Chart.
