On the full moon after my twenty-first birthday, I was supposed to go through my first shift. Instead, I was left to huddle alone in the cold, a failure who couldn’t do the one thing expected of her. That’s when a vampire shows up at my door and says he wants to claim me. While I might not know what I am, I’m pretty fricking certain that I’m not going to be mated to a bloodsucker. He might be a good friend, but that’s all he’ll ever be to me. Isn’t it?

The truth is a lot weirder than that, though, because his presence has spurred a revelation from my mother about a dark family secret. A secret that she says I’ll have to solve if I want to survive the next full moon. I’ve got less than two weeks to discover the truth.
