This story takes the reader to Iraq, Syria and the U.S. where the residuals of the Syrian civil war is having a destructive impact on millions of lives, including the story's two main characters : Sabah Faraj Putrus, a Chaldean medical doctor working for Doctors Without Borders in Syria, and Hamdia Qubbani, a devout Muslim Syrian refugee trying to clear out of harm's way with her father. This story focuses on what happens to them as the doctor takes on a taboo type of a risk when he becomes determined to rescue Hamdia from the ravages of the civil war. But, she 's compromised for enduring what it's like to pay the ultimate price for being regarded as a traitor who's anxious to abandon her country while it's bleeding beyond recognition.
