Trouble visits a small Welsh town as rivalries reach fever pitch.

Sleuthing reporter Stacey Logan can’t help bumping into her boyfriend DCI Ben James in her professional life from time to time.

But in her latest venture she ends up entangled in one of his ongoing murder inquiries.

She is looking into the disappearance of a teenager, the son of the local member of parliament. He is investigating a suspicious death on a bleak, isolated hill.

Are the murder and kidnap cases linked? Even if they aren’t, Stacey could be in danger. If the killer gets the slightest whiff of anyone getting close, they’ll let the dogs loose.

And Stacey has enough to deal with. The serious crimes seem to have stoked up every simmering local resentment there is, and rivalries are coming to the fore.

Will it all spell ruin for the small community?
