This book represents more than 30 years of my teaching pedagogy from pre-kinder through high school. It was created to help enlighten the next generation of art educators, as well as sharing my knowledge of "choice-based" art education with fellow teachers. While I have achieved my National Board Certification, and hold two certifications in education, I have written this in a casual conversational tone, avoiding jargon wherever possible so that it can reach the broadest possible audience. My student-centered approach to art education will be detailed here and is closely related to STEM/STEAM education. Though the STEM acronym was coined in 2001 by the U.S. National Science Foundation, it has been my integrated approach to art education since 1990.
