Paul was born in Philadelphia, raised mostly in Ohio, and has lived in Seattle since before E.T. phoned home. His work has appeared in over thirty journals including Glimmer Train, Inkwell, the Southern Indiana Review, New South, Fiction, Short Story America, Harpur Palate and Writing Tomorrow, and won a number of national awards. His first novel, "Houdini Pie," was published in 2010 by Bennett & Hastings Publishing. Along with writing Paul is a performing musician (mandolin, fiddle, guitar, dobro) and songwriter.
