Born on St. Valentine's Day in 1938, I have lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada since 1971. As of Summer 2017 I have been a convinced Christian for 59 years. I was married for nearly 51. I have two moderately grown-up children, and two teenaged grandchildren.
My husband, a distinguished Medievalist and Modern Linguist, had suffered from Parkinson's for eleven years, and died on July 30th 2013. He is immortalised in my book as Simon Rivers.
My story is about love, the love and goodness of God and the mutual love of three highly-intelligent, highly-educated people seeking to serve Him in this complicated modern world. It is the story of a real marriage, including many assaults on it, and at the same time the story of a marriage which did not take place. As I look back, I see myself as having been surrounded by love all my life.

I’ve just published a second less expensive and better distributed edition. It’s out in eBook, HB, SC and compact SC form.
There were still some minute slips in the 2011 text. I no longer saw the need for some of the fictionalisations, for instance the names of big schools, colleges and churches. There were one or two matters of fact to be corrected, for instance the place where one of my cousins once removed was killed in 1942. The narrative is made more vivid with 32 pp. of B&W illustrations.
Most readers will not notice anything except the photographs and perhaps the slightly different layout and pagination. The identities and real academic subjects of the three protagonists are still completely disguised.
