Sarah Naughton grew up in Dorset with her mum and a couple of short-lived hamsters. At seventeen she ran away to London to study English Literature at UCL, after which she attended the Watford advertising course.
For ten years she worked as a creative in an advertising agency, writing ads for burgers, trainers, breakfast cereals, tampons, and many more.
It was here she met her clever, funny husband and the father of her two sons. Giving up her job to care for said sons provided her with the time to pursue her real passion (writing), and her first book, a Victorian supernatural thriller for young adults, was published in 2013.
Since then she has written more thrillers, for adults and young adults, ghost stories, romantasy and a reworking of Sherlock Holmes, in collaboration with Anthony Horowitz.
In her spare time she edits for Jericho Writers, swims, runs, mudlarks and listens to grisly true-crime podcasts.
