Jacqueline Doyle lives with her husband, the writer Steve Gutierrez, and their son Ben in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her hybrid essay collection The Lunatics' Ball is forthcoming in the "21st Century Essays" series at Mad Creek Books/The Ohio State University Press. Her flash chapbook The Missing Girl won the Black River Chapbook Competition at Black Lawrence Press. Her flash, creative nonfiction, and fiction have appeared in numerous anthologies, and journals such as EPOCH, Fourth Genre, The Gettysburg Review, Southern Humanities Review, Electric Literature, matchbook, and Wigleaf. Her work has earned fifteen Pushcart nomination and nine Notable Essay citations in Best American Essays. She and Steve have recently retired at Cal State East Bay.
