Sara San Angelo was born in New Jersey but eventually found herself haunting back alleys in her teen years with a rag-tag band of friends in South Carolina's Holy City, Charleston. After finishing high school in the early 90s, and with a voracious appetite for learning things they couldn't teach you in school, she and her sister decided to leave Charleston and hitchhike around the country. What they found was a whole community of like-minded travelers trying to make sense of the world in their own way.
San Angelo traveled for the better part of the 90s until she hung up her pack and decided to attend college. She graduated with a degree in Communications and now writes for various local and national newspapers and magazines. Her book, Drift, is a fictional account of life on the road. She now lives outside of Charleston, SC on three and a half acres nestled in the Francis Marion National Forest with her two Boston Terriers, two goats and two cats. Drift is her first novel.
