Tadasu Izawa was a Japanese playwright, scriptwriter, director, producer, and novelist.

He studied in the fine arts department of Bunka Gakuin between 1928 and 1932. From 1933-1944 he worked as a journalist for the Tokyo Asahi Shimbun newspaper. He published plays during this time under the pseudonym, Tadashi Iizawa.

He was known for his political satire and his scripts for NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation)'s children's programmes. He collaborated with others to create a series of puppet storybooks which were popular in Japan and in translated English language editions. He was the first director of the Iwasaki Chihiro Picture Book Museum (now the Chihiro Art Museum) in Tokyo.

He became a member of the Japan Art Academy in 1983.
